The purpose of this brief questionnaire is to help you assess whether you should consider Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to treat your issues with sleep.



Cognitive behavioural therapy for insomnia (CBT-i) is now scientifically recognized as the most effective treatment for individuals suffering from insomnia symptoms (difficulty falling asleep, difficulty staying asleep and waking-up too early). The program guides you in learning techniques to sleep well again; however, the program demands a certain amount of effort, particularly while you are retraining your body to follow a new sleep routine.  The more demanding components of the program include completing a daily sleep diary, very specific scheduling of your time in bed and applying techniques to reduce your time awake at night and deal with racing thoughts.


The HALEO Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for insomnia (CBT-i) program requires a computer or a smart phone with a web camera in order to connect to a weekly video consultation with a therapist. A high speed internet connection via cable or WiFi is also required (a cellular connection is not recommended unless you have an unlimited data plan) and should be accessed in a room where you can have privacy.


The Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for insomnia (CBT-i) program that HALEO offers is a private, fee-for-service treatment that generally costs less than $500 and is reimbursed, partially or fully, by some, but not all, extended healthcare plans.
